An exceptional opportunity has arisen for an outstanding finance professional with a proven track record of developing and delivering effective strategic financial planning and producing budgets, reports, forecasting and analysis to meet business aims. Reporting into the newly appointed Chief Executive, the Finance Director will play a key role within the Executive team, whilst heading up finance and other support services, including Information Systems (IS) in the first instance.
Initially managing a team of 5-6 staff, your key responsibilities of the role include:
- Acting as a strategic business partner, you will deliver accurate, timely and relevant information to the Chief Executive, council and other stakeholders
- Collaborating with the wider Executive team to ensure overall strategic development of the ACT is progressed
- Supporting the key objectives of the Head of IS
The successful candidate must be a credible, professionally qualified accountant with exemplary leadership skills, high standards and strong attention to detail. You must be a naturally strategic thinker, and a robust, clear communicator to enable you to build effective relationships and influence individuals at all levels, in and out of finance. Your significant experience will have been gained from either a public or commercial sector organisation. You will be comfortable at managing operational finance and ensuring a best practice mentality throughout the finance and IS functions.
