Alongside a £50m capital project and an ambitious development programme (FuturePlan), the V&A is focusing on increasing commercial revenue and embedding a closer working relationship to partner with the non-finance community more closely.

We are looking for a self-motivated and enthusiastic finance professional with strong management skills to provide high quality support to the organisation to ensure future growth, stability and success. Reporting into the Head of Finance, this is a high-profile role which is responsible for a high-performing Finance Operations team.

Your key responsibilities will include: 

  • Being responsible for the full Finance Operations function to deliver a high-quality service to the Museum and other V&A entities;
  • Leading, managing, motivating and being responsible for the development of the Finance Operations team; supervising and being accountable for the work of the Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable;
  • Being responsible for the development of the relationship with the wider organisation and ensuring Finance Operations processes are well understood, through the delivery of both formal and informal training sessions.

The successful candidate will have extensive experience of managing an Accounts Payable team using a modern P2P system, in the Charity, Commercial or wider Public Sector. We are looking for someone who is eager to learn, flexible in approach but firm when necessary, who can work on their own initiative and thrives when thinking and acting proactively. You will possess effective interpersonal and influencing skills, capable of effective negotiation and building relationships with a wide range of stakeholders. Enthusiasm for the sector is a must.
