A key enabler of change and critical to the success of the council achieving its strategic aims is Property and Asset Management. The services’ transformation aims to deliver a professional, forward-thinking and innovative service that places Property and Asset Management at the heart of the council’s broader organisational change agenda. It is an area with great transport links, being 20 minutes from the City and West End.
The new Head of Property PMO and Systems will play a key role as the strategic lead for the development, monitoring and review of the council c£150m capital portfolio and property related revenue programmes. The successful candidate will act as the principle professional advisor and will work collaboratively with other service heads providing leadership in relation to property and asset management priorities and applying best practice.
The post-holder will bring inspiration to the new team instilling an authentic focus on delivering Council and community outcomes through effective portfolio, programme and project governance, planning, VFM, stakeholder engagement, reporting and escalation. They will be highly relationship oriented, at ease working collaboratively with directorate leaders and elected members across the Council to develop and embed a business culture that is positive, forward looking, results orientated and customer focused.
The successful candidate will be driven, energetic and articulate with a relevant portfolio, programme or project management qualification(s), alongside significant experience of successfully managing a complex PMO function ideally within a property environment. Exceptional people management and stakeholder relationship building skills, with an outcome approach to leadership is also essential.
