Homerton University Hospital NHS Foundation Trust is a high performing and flourishing organisation serving the population of Hackney, East London. The main community served by the Trust is highly diverse with a complex mix of clinical and cultural needs.
The Trust provides comprehensive hospital and community health services for its local population and a range of specialist services for a wider group of patients. These specialist services include obstetrics, neonatology, foetal medicine, fertility, neuro-rehabilitation, bariatric surgery, and asthma and allergy services.
Reporting into the Director of Finance, a stimulating and high profile opportunity has arisen for an ambitious and experienced senior finance professional. Leading and motivating team of approximately 32 people and with scope to make a real difference to Trust, your responsibilities will include, but will not be limited to:
- Responsibility for the day to day running and improvement of the Statutory Reporting, Financial Management, Contracting & Income sections.
- Championing the delivery of Cost Improvement Programme savings across the Trust, whilst ensuring robust reporting processes and mechanisms are in place.
- Acting as the strategic and operational finance.
- The post will play a key role in the production of the Long Term Financial Models, and provide strategic financial management advice in the production of such models.
The successful candidate must be an intelligent, credible, professionally qualified accountant with exemplary leadership skills, high standards and strong attention to detail. You must be a naturally strategic thinker, and a robust, clear communicator to enable you to build effective relationships and influence challenging individuals at all levels, in and out of finance. The successful candidate is likely to come from within the NHS, although we do encourage applications from other large, complex and public sector organisation.
