The Homerton University NHS Foundation Trust (HUHFT) are seeking to recruit their new Head of Information Services. HUHFT is a high performing and flourishing organisation serving the population of Hackney, East London. The community served by the Trust is highly diverse with a complex mix of clinical and cultural needs.

The Trust provides comprehensive hospital and community health services for its local population and a range of specialist services for a wider group of patients. These specialist services include obstetrics, neonatology, foetal medicine, fertility, neuro-rehabilitation, bariatric surgery, and asthma and allergy services.

The successful applicant will define the strategy and lead the Trust’s Information Management, Data Quality and Clinical Coding functions, working alongside the Chief Operating Officer.

Key elements to the role include working directly with both clinicians and operational managers and identifying growth areas (while supporting an improved service delivery and efficiency), and your responsibilities will include:

  • Defining and executing the Trust’s information strategy and assurance framework and leading on Business Intelligence, Data Warehousing, Contract Monitoring, Data Quality and national report teams across the organisation;
  • Directly leading divisional managers and become a key member of both the Informatics Committee and the Information Governance Committee;
  • Assisting the organisation’s vision and strategy by ensuring each team is efficiently staffed and continually hitting targets;
  • Leading on development of staff, growth of teams and continued training with a real focus on retaining and up-skilling work force while developing a customer service centric delivery model.

The successful applicant will be a seasoned Informatics professional with direct line management experience who has retained their enthusiasm for technology. A key element to this role is the variety of stakeholders you will be engaging with, ranging from technical informatics staff, .clinicians at all levels, commissioners of the Trust’ services and senior executives. The ability to understand, impact and influence while driving positive change in a fast paced and ever changing environment is critical to this role.
