The Department for Exiting the European Union (DExEU) is responsible for providing leadership across government to ensure we get the best deal for Britain and put in place a deep and special relationship with the EU.

The responsibilities of this role will entail:

  • Project managing the delivery of the Departmental Annual Report and Accounts and the Whole of Government Accounts return
  • Acting as the central liaison point for the GIAA and NAO for internal audit, financial audit and Value for Money studies
  • Providing the secretariat function for the Audit and Risk Assurance Committee
  • Coordinating the Department’s responses to Treasury Minutes
  • Supporting colleagues and helping deliver other financial control responsibilities as and when required
  • Review and develop the financial control environment to ensure that it remains relevant to the fluidity of DExEU’s work, and ensuring there is a robust audit trail to support all of the Department’s transactions

Person specification

  • You will hold a CCAB qualification.
  • You will have the ability to work flexibly and effectively manage tasks according to priority.
  • You will have experience in preparing financial statements and working with the National Audit Office throughout the audit process.
  • You will be able to quickly develop, nurture and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
  • You will have a strong working knowledge of International Financial Reporting Standards, the Financial Reporting Manual, Managing Public Money and the Consolidated Budgeting Guidance.
