An exciting opportunity has arisen to join this high profile & hugely important government department. The Department for Exiting the European Union (DExEU) is responsible for providing leadership across government to ensure we get the best deal for Britain and put in place a deep and special relationship with the EU.

DExEU roles are part of a fast paced and dynamic environment right at the heart of Whitehall, where you will have the opportunity to be part of an exciting department and support the delivery of one of the Government’s highest priorities.

DExEU’s values:

  • Embracing our exceptional context with dynamism, rigour and professionalism.
  • Empowered to deliver, bringing new thinking to the challenges we face together.
  • Fostering collaboration through an environment that respects and values diversity.

DExEU is offering an exciting opportunity for an experienced Finance professional to join its Finance team at Band B2 (HEO/SEO).  Reporting to a Band A (Grade 7) Senior Finance Business Partner, the successful applicant will be part of the Finance Business Partnering (FBP) team, engaging with the business on a day-to-day basis in providing support, advice and guidance, and in setting the Department’s budget and allocating this to each directorate.  Working closely with the Financial Control team, you will be responsible for working with business areas to ensure understanding of, and compliance with, financial control policies and also ensuring that the Purchase Order/Invoice paying process runs smoothly. You will also work with the rest of the FBP team in creating robust financial forecasts for business areas.

Though the nature of DExEU’s budget is not complex, due to the high-profile and fluid nature of the Department’s work effective financial planning to ensure the business areas have the resources they need to achieve their collective objectives is imperative.  In this role you will be involved in working with the business to ensure budgets remain appropriate; and delivering the Fiscal Events and the Department’s Supplementary and Main Estimates.
