Allen Lane are delighted to be recruiting exclusively to the permanent Enterprise Architect vacancy with Lincolnshire Police.

The Enterprise Architect is a new and pivotal role within Lincolnshire Police and will work as part of an extended IT Senior Leadership Team. You will be responsible for enhancing the quality of IT products and services by working with business areas to set the technology and digital direction for the ongoing delivery of solutions to meet their needs.  You will embed Enterprise Architecture processes and practices into the Force, putting your own stamp on this new position.

The successful candidate will have a broad technology and IT delivery background and be responsible for deputising for the CIO on key Force and Digital Policing meetings as required. You will be an effective leader, adept at engaging with different types of stakeholders effectively, and be capable of building digital/data capabilities.

The core work areas for the Enterprise Architect are as follows:

  • Accountable for Design Governance, ensuring there are structured controls in place to manage and oversee IT Strategy alignment and Digital Policy/Standards/Pattern development.
  • Responsible for Digital and Strategic Roadmap Planning for the Lincolnshire IT Estate, alongside National and Regional opportunities and dependencies
  • Responsible for chairing and administrating a Lincolnshire Design Authority forum and control process that oversees design, “technical debt” and compliance risks
  • Accountable for maintaining Enterprise Architecture overarching Catalogues for Applications, Data and Technology components.
  • Engaging with and being consulted by Projects and Programmes to help ensure these initiatives have guidance on doing the “right thing, first time” at the earliest opportunity.

In order to meet the requirements of this role from day 1, applicants must demonstrate the following essential criteria:

  • Advanced experience of working with Enterprise class application, mobile, cloud and infrastructure solutions.
  • Demonstrable experience in delivering solutions on premise and/or SaaS/PaaS/IaaS in the cloud.
  • Has a proven record of accomplishments in leading large-scale architectural projects using a recognised Enterprise Architecture framework.
  • Has implemented a recognised Enterprise Architecture Governance framework into a large organisation.
  • Experience of aligning business strategic objectives with practical IT solutions.
  • Demonstrate outstanding problem solving and analytical skills to resolve issues and deliver agreed solutions, including presenting technical ideas and concepts in a simple and logical way.
  • An effective leader who can demonstrate an ability to manage and communicate with colleagues, suppliers and partners.
  • Effective management and leadership in developing a vision and delivering requisite strategies and plans to support its delivery.
  • Working knowledge of the application of ITIL framework and Prince2 methodology.
  • Robust knowledge of security architecture and IT Quality Assurance processes e.g. NSCS Guidance, ISO27001, Cyber Essentials.
