An exciting new opportunity has arisen for experienced finance professionals to join the Finance Team at Cambridgeshire County Council, supporting services within People and Communities.
Cambridgeshire are looking to appoint 3 full-time or part-time committed and self-motivated financial professionals to support the team in the provision of a comprehensive financial support service to our customers and business partners. Like most councils they will have financial pressures in the coming years, however Cambridgeshire County Council has a strong financial culture and a Finance service respected within the organisation, meaning that they are well placed to meet these challenges.
The successful candidates will be responsible for a wide range of financial activities and will be integral to supporting Children’s and Safeguarding, Education or the Adult Social Care Service.
The Finance Business Partners are responsible for ensuring fluid communication and support to budget holders, including Directors, Heads of Services, Managers and Council Members to help advise on vital decision making that directly impacts people’s lives.
The roles provide a diverse working environment covering various responsibilities with opportunities to develop. Appropriate candidates will have:
- Experience in budgeting and supporting stakeholders
- Confidence in communicating with financial and non-financial professionals at all levels
- They will look to promote the continuous improvement of financial management
- A team player attitude to contribute to the overall development of the team, bringing a positive, can-do attitude
To be suitable for the role applicants must be a qualified accountant, AAT qualified, or registered with one of the main accountancy bodies and actively pursuing their qualification. Hybrid working is offered with individuals expected to be present in the office 2 days per week.
