An interesting opportunity has arisen at a NHS organisation in London for a Senior Investment Manager to play a key role in the capital investment process for the organisation.

Owing to the scarcity of available capital and revenue funds, the organisation has introduced a robust investment process to ensure a high level of scrutiny and governance is applied to all investment decisions.  The aim of the role is to lead on the investment processes of the organisation, providing professional advice and guidance on the content required for a strong feasibility proposal and/or business case.  This will include the development and delivery of robust capital and revenue investment business plans across financial years, ensuring alignment with the Trust’s strategy and long-term financial position. It follows that the post-holder will play a significant role in ensuring the business cases move as smoothly as possible through the process.

You should be a qualified accountant, or equivalent, able to demonstrate expert NHS accounting knowledge, analytical support and clear presentation of complex financial and business information to clinical and non-clinical colleagues.  Knowledge of NHS accounting and the Treasury Five Case Business Case Model would be very helpful in order to be able to provide advice on the development of business cases. The ability to project manage and navigate processes to achieve timely objectives will be important.

For the right candidate, this rare role in the NHS offers the opportunity to use a special skillset in a very positive way, helping to shepherd through much needed resources and potentially new and ground-breaking developments.
