The finance department is currently going through a restructure to help develop and improve an already effective and passionate finance team. The restructure is built around development, growth and career progression to ensure we create a high performing finance team that can provide even more support to the council and benefit our residents. The next step of the restructure is to really embed the model that we’ve implemented, ensuring we are challenging the organisation to maximise the delivery of services and have an even bigger impact for our residents.
The Assistant Finance Manager will support the Deputy Finance Manager in Community Wealth Building and Commercial. The role will provide technical support and financial advice to ensure that the Council’s financial resources are managed effectively. Key responsibilities will include;
- Providing advice and support across the service to enable efficient and timely financial management, in support of operational managers
- Supporting the continued development, maintenance and review of budget monitoring, controls and reporting
- Producing analysis and management information to be included in reports
- Supporting the implementation of change management programmes to deliver continuous improvement
To be suitable for the role you must be a fully qualified accountant or studying towards a CCAB qualification, complete AAT qualification is also acceptable if supported with strong technical knowledge. Experience of working in a corporate department for a large complex organization is also essential.
