Allen Lane are working with a local authority to recruit an interim Finance Manager to manage their Environmental Services directorate. Supporting Directors and Heads of Service, the successful candidate will need to have previous experience working across Public Realm so that they can hit the ground running during the busy year end period.
As such key objectives will include:
- Lead the team to successful production of year end financial accounts, the associated close down processes and preparing for and responding to external audit
- Supporting the team through budget monitoring including leading the team to challenge departments on the best use of their resources available
- Drive improvement of financial processes and systems and ensure the adoption of best practice in financial management
CCAB or CIMA qualified, the successful candidate will ideally have local government experience and a substantial understanding of environment services. Excellent interpersonal skills will be required as you will be managing a team of accountants.
