An excellent new opportunity has arisen for an experienced project manager to lead the selection and implementation of a new finance and grant management system for a public sector organisation.
Working closely with the finance team, you will be the project lead in the selection, delivery and adoption of the new systems, ensuring that the project is delivered from concept to completion in accordance with milestones and budgets. The crucial first phase will be to gain a full understanding of the system requirements from the team and the wider operational and service users, followed by the construction of the full business case for the project. This will lead to close working with the organisation’s procurement team to tender for the new system, then beyond this to acting as the main point of contact for the provider during the implementation, testing, roll-out and training phases.
You should hold a professional Project Management qualification and have a successful track record of delivering projects. Particularly, you will have a strong understanding of project management tools and methodologies, and the experience of applying them in practice. Previous experience project management if a financial environment will be very helpful, especially if this has involved the implementation of cloud-based finance systems. You must be able to demonstrate the ability to engage stakeholders at varying levels across the organisation, and to this end, first rate communication and organisational skills will be essential.
