Senior Infrastructure Engineer/Infrastructure Engineer x2
Sector: Local Government
Date posted: 10/06/2019
Salary: £45,949 - £52,732 per annum
Here at Hackney Council, we are recruiting staff to strengthen our infrastructure team. We are looking for enthusiastic, collaborative and versatile people interested in exploring new ways of delivering services to reflect the changing nature of our work. We are moving away from an on-premises based delivery model to one that seeks to benefit from the cloud. We are implementing our web first strategy which emphasises accessible services, delivered via the internet, from any location and want ambitious and talented engineers to join us on this exciting journey; to learn and grow with us.
The ideal candidates will be experienced to a senior level in at least 2 of the following areas. A working knowledge of more would, of course, be beneficial.
- Networking – Data and Voice topologies and protocols
- Databases – SQL, Oracle etc
- Scripting. – Powershell, AWS, CLI etc
- Virtualisation technologies – VMWare
- Cloud computing services – Containerisation etc
- Project Management – At least an understanding of Agile methodologies
We are interested in hearing from experienced Infrastructure Engineers who will be ready to step into a senior role that supports Hackney’s goals and also from staff that believe they are ready to learn with us and make the step to Senior Engineer in a year to 18 months’ time. For such applicants we will offer a transparent and structured learning pathway to support them to achieve the more senior position so this is the perfect opportunity for those to embrace the challenge of learning and growing with us!
