Our support services play a key role in helping the whole Council work to the best of its ability and ensure the Council can deliver on its priorities. Within that the Financial Management function has undergone some major changes, including; moving to a centralised finance function and implementing a new finance system. The priorities over the next two years are addressing the financial challenges facing the Council and embedding a culture of business partnering and adding value.
The Procurement and Purchasing Officer is responsible for ensuring controls are in place and adhered to, in support of all procurement and purchasing related processes. The postholder will work the eternal financial systems providers to ensure queries are dealt with effectively and efficiently. Duties include;
- Processing of supplier set up requests
- Providing excellent support for financial system modules including PTP and Supplier Master record maintenance
- Providing information for financial and other management reports, as and when required
- Contributing to the Procurement Team set up and development
- Providing advice to departments on processes to achieve increased efficiency and compliance to the organisation
The ideal candidate for this role will be educated to GCSE level standard or technical level and have knowledge of how Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable processes work. Knowledge of specialist information systems such as Agresso would also be beneficial.
