Providing the customers with reliable IT equipment and Software which meets their business needs is the foundation of Redbridge Council’s service. In this role, you will assist in the management of IT assets and licensing from issuing to eventual recall and disposal, to building up working relationships ranging from internal staff to 3rd party suppliers.

Role overview and Purpose:

  • To manage the council’s entire IT asset inventory, including purchase, storage and issuing of IT equipment, and its eventual recall and disposal.
  • This role has to ensure that the council receives best value in its IT purchases, keeps track of all that has been purchased and is able to account for its use. “Assets” and ”resources” in this context refers to equipment, software and software licences.

Role context:

The IT service supports approximately 3,000 customers including staff in other organisations, across more than 30 locations. It is our aim to ensure that our customers are able to work productively and efficiently at all times, and are never hampered by lack of the equipment they need. They also have to ensure that council resources are not wasted through misuse, loss or through misallocation of equipment in excess of what is needed.

You need to have:

  • Broad Knowledge of IT Software and End User hardware
  • Relevant experience or understanding of the IT Asset Lifecycle
