An excellent new opening has arisen at a government organisation for an experienced accountant to add value and ensure finance is at the heart of commercial decision making.
Working with colleagues across the group, your key responsibility will be to support the financial business partnering team to implement the recommendations from the audit around the treatment of assets and capitalisation. The role will involve building working relationships swiftly and establishing a process to improve the current approach, which will ultimately support effective decision making and business planning. You will act as a representative of the finance department and as a critical friend to the business, ensuring stewardship of public funds and efficient and effective use of budgets.
You should be a qualified accountant, or equivalent, with substantial relevant experience of working within a business facing finance department. Preferably you will have experience of working within a government environment and the ability to work in a culture of change. Not only will you will need excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to build and maintain strong working relationships with stakeholders, but you will need to demonstrate strong influencing and negotiation skills.
