with a good understanding of the Education Funding regime in England (so good working knowledge of all areas of the DSG, the Pupil Premium, Devolved Formula Capital etc.)

You must have excellent Excel competency, as the successful person will be undertaking complex modelling and completing complex ESFA data returns in Excel.

Experience of dealing with senior leadership, with executive members and external stakeholders, including writing reports to draft stage.  Again this is essential given the profile of the role and contacts the role incurs.

Ability to handle difficult conversations.  Again a large part of the role is liaison with schools, including managing school expectations, ensuring they fulfil their commitments to the Local Authority and managing schools in financial difficulty whereby hard choices have to be communicated and local decision making challenged.You must be CCAB qualified.
