Project Accountant

Our client is a well regarded NHS provider organisation which is seeking an experienced interim project accountant to provide extra support to the finance team while they go through a busy phase.

Reporting to the Deputy Director of Finance, your remit is likely to be wide ranging, and is likely to include a mix of interesting project work and some more hands-on support to the wider financial reporting, financial planning and financial management teams while they cope with the demands of the impending year end and ongoing transformation programme.

You should be a qualified accountant, or equivalent, with solid technical skills and the awareness to understand the links between the different parts of finance.  Ideally you will have gained experience of working in an acute NHS trust in the past and you should be able to demonstrate the resourcefulness and initiative to find practical solutions to issues that might arise for the finance department in such an environment.  Crucially, you must be prepared to roll up your sleeves and provide the day to day support to the team while they go through this busy spell.  Strong communication skills and the ability to handle situations sensitively are important.
