Interim Senior Accountant (Education)

A Local Authority in the South East are currently recruiting for an Interim Senior Accountant to add capacity to the Schools/Education Team.

Experience:

• You will have a good understanding of the Education funding regime in England, knowledge of all areas of the DSG, the Pupil Premium, and Devolved Formula Capital etc. You must have excellent excel as you be undertaking complex modelling and completing complex ESFA data returns in Excel.
• You will have experience of dealing with senior leadership, executive members and external stakeholders, including writing reports to draft stage.
• Ability to handle difficult conversations. A large part of the role is liaison with schools, including managing school expectations, ensuring they fulfil their commitments to the Local Authority. Managing schools in financial difficulty whereby hard choices have to be communicated and local decision making challenged.

Ideally you will be qualified, having the experience DSG funding is essential.
