An exceptional opportunity has arisen for an outstanding finance professional with a proven track record of developing and delivering effective strategic financial planning and producing budgets, reports, forecasting and analysis to meet business aims. Reporting to the Chief Executive, the Chief Financial Officer will play a key role within the senior leadership team, whilst heading up finance and other support services, including human resources (HR), information technology (IT) and management information (MI). The Chief Financial Officer will deputise for the Chief Executive as necessary.
Managing a team of 7 staff, the key responsibilities of the role include:
- acting as a strategic business partner
- delivering accurate, timely and relevant information to the Chief Executive, council and other stakeholders
- supporting the key objectives of finance, HR, IT and MI
- collaborating with the wider senior leadership team to ensure overall strategic development and delivery
The successful candidate must be a credible, professionally qualified accountant with exemplary leadership skills, high standards and strong attention to detail. You must be a natural strategic thinker and a robust, clear communicator to enable you to build effective relationships and influence individuals at all levels, in and out of finance. Your significant experience will have been gained from either a public or commercial sector organisation, although time within a smaller business would be advantageous. You will be comfortable at managing operational finance and ensuring a best practice mentality throughout the finance and other business support functions.
