We have a new opening within a large metropolitan council for a good finance manager who can combine strong technical accounting skills with supportive leadership and management ability.

The assignment itself centres on corporate budgets, in particular around core revenue services like Revenues and Benefits. You’ll ideally bring existing exposure and subject matter knowledge to these areas – or be able to relate to them quickly to the point of being able to advice service managers and support junior members of staff. The nuances of the service are important, but we’re looking for someone who can also contribute to a positive, enjoyable and hard working environment.

Working within an authority transitioning in a number of ways – including a change in systems as well as undergoing some restructuring – you’ll need to be flexible and like all good contractors be comfortable in a changing environment, bring calm and stability to teams adapting to change. The right manager can be crucial in developing engagement and make change a positive force within a team.
