The Seven Force Strategic Collaboration Programme was established 2015 and is working across the Eastern Region (Bedfordshire, Cambridgeshire, Hertfordshire, Norfolk, Suffolk, Essex and Kent Police Forces) to develop and implement successful collaborative solutions to protect the front-line local delivery of policing.
The Programme covers a geographic area of more than 9,000 square miles, serving nearly 8 million residents. This makes it one of the most ambitious police partnership programmes ever undertaken.
The Seven Force Procurement Team is a new shared procurement service supporting these 7 police forces. This collaboration is responsible for third party spend of approximately £230m per annum, making the Collaboration the second largest police procurement collective after the Metropolitan Police, using its buying power to secure wider social, economic and environmental benefits.
To enable the delivery of effective and efficient police services and provide support for victims in the eastern region by procuring and managing high quality, value for money contracts; number of fantastic opportunities have arisen for outstanding procurement professionals.
Reporting into the Assistant Governance and Standards Manager, you will provide a range of customer support, administrative functions in support of the wide 7 Force Function, involving the management of customers, communications, documents, events information and procedures. You will also assist the Governance and Standards team to operate effectively and efficiently identifying where improvements can be made by carrying out low value tendering activities under supervision. Other duties include;
- Act as the primary point of contact for all new work requests and general queries for the 7 Forces Procurement Function
- Manage and maintain the library of procurement and contract documentation used by the 7 Forces Procurement Function
- Act as a source of information about working procedures, information sources, documentation and people in the 7 Forces Procurement Function
- Carry out research on new Procurement projects under supervision
The successful candidate must have exceptional verbal and written communication skills and effective administrative and organisational skills. You will be computer literate, and have the ability to manage documents and information. You will be well-organised with robust time management, analysis and project management skills and the ability to travel as required throughout the 7 Forces. Lastly, the ideal candidate will possess a great enthusiasm for law enforcement and have experience working in a procurement of similar environment.
