The Seven Force Strategic Collaboration Programme was established 2015 and is working across the Eastern Region (Bedfordshire, Cambridgeshire, Hertfordshire, Norfolk, Suffolk, Essex and Kent Police Forces) to develop and implement successful collaborative solutions to protect the front-line local delivery of policing.
The Programme covers a geographic area of more than 9,000 square miles, serving nearly 8 million residents. This makes it one of the most ambitious police partnership programmes ever undertaken.
The Seven Force Procurement Team is a new shared procurement service supporting these 7 police forces. This collaboration is responsible for third party spend of approximately £230m per annum, making the Collaboration the second largest police procurement collective after the Metropolitan Police, using its buying power to secure wider social, economic and environmental benefits.
To enable the delivery of effective and efficient police services and provide support for victims in the eastern region by procuring and managing high quality, value for money contracts; number of fantastic opportunities have arisen for outstanding procurement professionals.
Reporting into the Head of Commercial Delivery, you will manage the contractual relationship with identified key strategic suppliers, ensuring that robust and appropriate contract management is undertaken. In addition, you will develop and implement a contract management methodology and supporting tools to enable client/budget holder’s responsible out in the business to perform their role, and your responsibilities will include:
- Promoting a commercial and contract management culture across the 7 Forces
- Ensuring that the 7 Forces are recognised as the supplier’s priority customer by demonstrating efficiency, trust, commitment and flexibility
- Producing and communicating relevant management information showing performance against contractual agreements
- Leading and/or supporting complex contract management activities with key suppliers
- Exploring, identifying and applying innovative contract management approaches for the delivery of critical complex projects.
The successful candidate must have exceptional verbal and written communication skills, strong commercial acumen and the ability to confidently liaise with and influence staff/officers and stakeholders at all levels. You will have significant category management experience of procurement and commercial management in contracts, good analytical skills and commercial awareness. You will be well-organised with robust time management, analysis and project management skills and the ability to travel as required throughout the 7 Forces.
