A challenging new finance manager role has arisen with a government organisation for an experienced accountant to lead the financial management and reporting of one of its divisions.
As the key interface between the finance department and operational managers, you will manage the monthly financial process with the support of a small management accounts team. Responsible for the budgeting and production of the accounts, it is essential to keep the system, reporting and business support performing at the levels expected. The important part of this interim role will be to improve organisation, structure and timeliness of the reporting, which may involve reconfiguration of reporting to make it more relevant and effective. This is about improving the quality of decision making support.
You should an experienced, qualified, finance manager, with a strong understanding of public sector finances, especially of working with large investment programmes, demonstrated by spending time in a similar role in a government environment or equivalent. Key to the position will be strong communication skills as you will be working with a wide range of people at varying levels. There is a strong preference for a candidate to hold SC clearance or above.
