An interesting new opening has arisen for an experienced, technically strong Senior Analyst to join the economic and commercial analysis team on a government transport infrastructure programme.
Reporting to the Commercial Analysis Lead, the Senior Analyst will be responsible for producing commercial, financial, whole life cost analysis and modelling. The post-holder will use their skills to order, interrogate, develop models and analyse data, and to produce advice to stakeholders, supporting the company in helping ensure decisions on the programme are based on sound evidence. For example, this could include provision of a compelling business case for different phases, or enhancing the commercial viability of procurement and operational phases by way of analysis of key financing, investment and design decisions.
You should be an expert analyst with proficiency in whole life cost analysis, commercial, revenue and/or financial analysis and modelling skills are essential. Advanced Excel skills are also crucial and you will need to demonstrate the ability to efficiently manage, handle and manipulate large, complex datasets and identify patterns. Experience of working in the rail industry would be very helpful for this role, although broader exposure to the transport industry might also be a benefit. As a wide range of liaison across the business is required, good communication skills and the ability to swiftly form effective working relationships is important.
This role offers the opportunity to work on a high profile and interesting programme. For the right individual it is likely to be a rewarding and fulfilling assignment and can only strengthen your CV.
