Finance Manager – Adult Services

A challenging new interim finance manager role has arisen at a council in the North West for an experienced accountant to lead the financial management of Adult Social Care Services.

Reporting to the Deputy CFO, this senior finance role is the key interface between the finance department and the service managers, providing them with financial guidance and decision making support. You will manage the monthly financial process with the support of a small team.  A key part of this role will be to provide input into the wider transformation programme, which will improve organisation, structure and timeliness of the reporting, which may involve the reconfiguration of reporting to make it more relevant and effective.

You should an experienced, qualified, finance manager, with a strong understanding of local government finances, demonstrated by spending time in a similar role in Adult or Corporate Services at another council. Ideally, you will have exposure to Section 75 agreements and notable technical awareness. Crucial to the position will be strong communication skills as you will be working with a wide range of people at varying levels.
