Financial Accountant

An interesting new opening has arisen at a public sector organisation for an experienced financial accountant to join the finance department and play a key role in supporting the delivery of the accounts as the team starts to prepare for the end of year.

In this role you will partner and collaborate with a range of stakeholders, acting as a key point of contact in financial accounting, helping to resolve accounting problems, to ensure the organisation’s annual accounts are free from material errors, and on time. This will include supporting the preparation of the monthly accounts, including the management of the month end process and carrying out analytical review of the financial results.

You should be a qualified financial accountant with experience of applying technical guidance to practical situations.  Strong analytical skills, good Excel skills and an eye for detail will be very helpful.  Ideally, you will have previously gained exposure to financial reporting in the public sector.  The ability to rapidly form effective working relationships across a range of people in different locations are important as you will need to collaborate across the organisation to deliver on time.
