The Finance Manager – Capital and Commercial will manage a team and lead on providing financial support for the Council’s commercial arrangements and supporting the Council’s transformation programme, including financial oversight through the Programme Management Office and supporting individual projects as necessary.
Key responsibilities will include:
- Leading on the development of business cases for new commercial ventures and service delivery, including providing financial support in preparing business cases
- Providing financial support to trading companies, joint ventures and subsidiaries, ensuring efficient governance and best value
- Supporting the Council’s transformation programme, including financial oversight through the Programme Management Office and supporting individual projects as necessary
- Identifying and contributing to the realisation of opportunities for service improvement and increased efficiency
To be suitable, you must be an innovative qualified finance professional with a commercial mindset, the ability to look past the numbers to see opportunities, as well as excellent communications skills. Proven experience of building relationships, influencing and challenging senior stakeholders and explaining complex financial information is also essential.
