Financial Control Support
Location: Remote working

Duration: 3 - 6 months
Salary: £320 - £360 per day
An interesting new opening has arisen at a NHS Trust for an experienced financial accountant/controller to join the finance department and help to continue delivery of their financial improvement project and implement audit recommendations.
This role will be working with the financial control team in the run up to year end. Owing to some challenges in delivering the accounts last year, a programme to improve the robustness of the figures has been undertaken over the course of the last year. Using your significant financial control experience and, in particular, your understanding of peoples’ behaviour towards financial control processes, you will be providing technical scrutiny over some of the key parts of the year end process and is likely to extend to providing training and support to the department.
You will be a qualified financial accountant with strong technical understanding and have substantial exposure to financial controls and processes, gained within large and complex organisations – ideally NHS or government. A background in audit would be advantageous. In particular, you should be able to demonstrate an eye for detail and display the empathy required to train and educate less experienced staff in the correct processes. As you will be working with a range of people, strong communication skills will be very important.
The organisation is situated in the Midlands, but the work can largely be carried out remotely. It is likely to be busy straight away but, as a result, should be very rewarding.
