A Local Authority in the South West are currently looking to recruit to an Interim Director of Homes and Landlords.

In this vital role, you’ll be responsible for their homes strategy ensuring delivery meets demand. It’s about ensuring the housing stock and estates are not only renewed, but also meet the Decent Homes Standard. And, about putting roofs over more heads by swiftly re-housing homeless people.

You will work collaboratively with those around you, and build positive, beneficial relationships across the council. Realising our strategic objectives is important, but you’ll also focus on inspiring your team – helping them to grow and improve every day.

For this role you will have a proven track record of service-level leadership and experience of empowering a team to go above and beyond. Communication and negotiation are key, as is the ability to develop spot-on strategies. With a relevant professional qualification, you’ll have also worked in an HRA environment and with homelessness services. As an accomplished housing management senior professional you will be responsible for leading a team of over 1,000 people with responsibility for the Council’s directly owned and managed stock of 27,000 homes serving over 70,000 city residents.  Reporting to the Executive Director Growth and Regeneration, and working closely with the Cabinet Members, you will lead the team responsible for maintenance and repairs, housing management, housing options and our work with the private rented sector.
