Financial Strategy Accountant

Allen Lane is working with a Local Authority to recruit a Financial Strategy Accountant to join their corporate finance department. Working with the Senior Leadership Team, the successful candidate will use their advanced Excel skills to model key current & future income streams and lead on the production of annual financial reports and the MTFS.

As such, key objectives include;

• Play a key role in preparation of the Council’s budget and MTFS briefings
• Lead on interpreting the impact on financial planning of financial / legislative / policy changes
• Compile and produce accurate and clear data analysis and interpretation to aid effective decision-making including production of tables, graphs, and appendices for all financial planning reports
• Responsible for the accurate and timely completion of the 2020 RA return and any other statutory budget returns

This is a great role for a CCAB qualified Accountant with previous experience in developing the preparation of the MTFS for a council. An excellent knowledge and demonstrable experience of local government funding will be required alongside strong attention for detail.
