My London based client are in search for an experienced Senior Procurement Manager with a background in civils / construction. This assignment pays between £600-£650 inside IR35 and on an initial 6 month term with possible extension thereafter.

Job Purpose:

Each Senior Procurement Manager will be working within a small team to deliver the procurement activities of a procurement ‘package’, with each package between £10m and £1bn, and will be accountable for significant elements of procurement delivery for each package.   Each Senior Procurement Manager will work closely with colleagues across the business to prepare and deliver the procurement activities and will align potentially conflicting information requiring significant influencing skills.

Type of experience:

  • Experience procuring large value complex heavy civils / construction or similar works/services in compliance with the Utilities Contracts Regulations with a thorough knowledge of applicable EU and UK procurement legislation and contracts using the NEC suite of contract forms
  • Experience in operating in a matrix environment, with influencing and communication skills – able to persuade on the basis of objective argument founded in fact and analysis
  • Commercial expertise to ensure that value for money is secured and demonstrated
  • Sponsor / Stakeholder relationship and management experience, with communication and influencing skills
  • Drive production to a schedule + organised / attention to detail (right first time) / self review / focus on success at assurance
  • Compliance expertise (strategy/processes/regulations)

Role / Accountabilities:

  • Work directly with other senior procurement team members – participate in workshops / strategy > products
  • Generate ideas / solutions
  • Autonomy lead development / deliver products for PQP/ITT work with SMEs / stakeholders (commercial, engineering, delivery, specialists) across virtual meetings
  • Deal with arrange of stakeholders– deliver outcomes required
  • Mentor Procurement Managers & Procurement Officers day to day (not line manager)
