Head of Finance

An interesting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Head of Finance to lend support and leadership to a key division of a leading Acute Trust while it goes through a period of change.

As Head of Finance for one of the divisions, you will lead the team of four in their delivery of financial reporting and financial advice, spanning cost improvements, commercial opportunities, business cases and service developments. As a result, you will be the key liaison point in finance within the division for clinical and operational management teams, so will be likely to spend a good deal of time in a business facing capacity. While the team will pull the monthly figures together you will be responsible for managing the key reporting deadlines and delivering quality information and insight to the stakeholders.

You should be a qualified accountant, or equivalent, with substantial post qualification experience of financial management in a NHS environment which has included acute services. Especially important will be your ability to lead a financial management team and add a new dimension to their capabilities.  Strong communication skills are essential as you’ll need to rapidly develop effective working relationships in a fast paced environment.
