An interesting new opening has arisen for an experienced team manager to join a leading NHS Trust as their Financial Controller.
Reporting to the Head of Financial Services, this position will be responsible for the day-to-day management of the transactional side of the financial control team, including planning, managing and delivering robust and accurate financial ledgers, accounts payable, accounts receivable and cashiering, all contributing towards financial and statutory reporting. A key part of this role will be in re-directing and harnessing the team to improve and fine-tune their delivery.
The right candidate will be a qualified accountant, or equivalent, and have substantial exposure to financial control and team management – indeed, you will need to demonstrate experience of developing of teams. Expert knowledge of the NHS Financial Regime and Trust accounting framework will be essential. Owing to the breadth of the role, first rate communication skills are important, as is the ability to prioritise and organise both your own and the team’s workload.
This role is likely to be busy straight away but, as a result, should be very rewarding.
