To support this and deliver on key strategic objectives, Bristol are recruiting a number of Finance positions, including 4 Principal Accountants, to support a range of services (covering Adult Social Care, Growth and Regeneration, Housing, and Financial Management) within the Finance Business Support team. These roles will play a key role in partnering with their directorate to provide high quality financial and commercial advice to better understand challenges and opportunities, and support operational decision making. Key responsibilities include;

  • Taking a proactive approach in managing and delivering financial and management accounting services
  • Building strong working relationships with key stakeholders to identify opportunities for business improvements and efficiencies
  • Collaborating with stakeholders across the organisation to ensure that robust financial controls are in operation, and that financial risk is understood
  • Ensuring a culture of continuous looking to constantly adding value and inspire success

To be suitable for this role you need to be a fully qualified customer-focused finance professional with the ability to build relationships and influence senior stakeholders. You will have proven experience of helping develop a business partnering approach.

These roles are able to work remotely for the majority of the time, with occasional trips to the office. These are anticipated to be around once a month or less. Any journeys to the office would be at the employees own expense. Part-time working arrangements can also be accommodated with these roles.
