Allen Lane have partnered with The Southbank Centre. The UK’s largest arts centre and one of the UK’s top visitor attractions, in their recruitment of Finance Business Partner to join the organisation on a permanent basis.

The Southbank Centre occupies a 17 acre site that sits in the midst of London’s most vibrant cultural quarter on the South Bank of the Thames. Existing to present great cultural experiences that bring people together and achieving this by providing the space for artists to create and present their best work and by creating a place where as many people as possible can come together to experience bold, unusual and eye-opening work.

The site has an extraordinary creative and architectural history stretching back to the 1951 Festival of Britain. Southbank Centre is made up of the Royal Festival Hall, Queen Elizabeth Hall, Purcell Room and Hayward Gallery as well as being home to the National Poetry Library and the Arts Council Collection. It is also home to four Resident Orchestras (London Philharmonic Orchestra, Philharmonia Orchestra, London Sinfonietta and Orchestra of the Age of Enlightenment) and four Associate Orchestras (Aurora Orchestra, BBC Concert Orchestra, Chineke! Orchestra and National Youth Orchestra of Great Britain).

We are looking for an experienced and proactive Qualified Finance professional who has a key interest in the Arts who is looking to step into a Finance Business Partnering role; Working with a variety of Stakeholders including the new Artistic Director in providing financial guidance.

This is a great opportunity for a candidate who is confident in collaborating with non-finance teams, providing financial management and delivering projects.

Reporting into the Head of Finance and Reporting you will be responsible for providing financial guidance and support to the Artistic and Development departments:  Managing all areas of income and expenditure including monthly reporting, annual budgeting, forecasting and risk analysis , the Finance Business Partner works closely with the rest of the team to improve the quality of information and processes in relation to artistic areas and identify and work on financial and business issues arising from artistic activity.

The ideal candidate will be a fully qualified accountant (ACA , ACCA or CIMA) with previous experience of working within a Management Accountant or Business Partnering position. Additionally you will have a track record with dealing with senior Stakeholders and experience in either supervising or direct management of 1 or more within a finance position.
