Established in 2009, The Royal Foundation mobilises leaders, businesses and people so that together we can address society’s greatest challenges. Led by The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge, our work is built on world-class research, long-term partnerships, and measurable, scalable impact.

2021 has been a milestone year for The Royal Foundation. We delivered the most ambitious, global programme in our history – the inaugural Earthshot Prize – and are setting it up for future sustainability. We launched the Centre for Early Childhood as part of our Early Years campaign and are building a plan for how we deliver long-term impact on this most vital of issues. And we have continued to make significant progress in our work on mental health, supporting emergency responders and tackling the illegal wildlife trade.

But alongside those achievements, we are also implementing a new vision for the Foundation. We are redefining our existing ways of working and rebuilding our structure with our three strategic pillars – Research, Partnerships, and Impact – at its heart. The Royal Foundation of the future is an exceptional organisation, focused on defining and shaping innovative and collaborative interventions on issues that are of global importance, and where our Principals have unique influence.

This new model will ensure that all of our work addresses three fundamental questions: what are the greatest challenges facing us today; where can The Royal Foundation achieve the greatest positive impact in addressing these challenges; and how can our Principals use their unique leadership positions to catalyse a collective response on a global scale? This approach will embed flexibility and agility at the heart of our organisation, allowing us to move away from thematic silos and instead bring our very best to any subject or challenge, identifying scalable solutions that are innovative, impactful and sustainable.

We are looking for a highly motivated and forward-thinking finance professional with robust technical skills to assist and deputise for the Head of Finance in ensuring effective management of the Charity’s finance function during an exciting period.

You will take ownership of the operational aspects of the finance function including the following key responsibilities:

Finance Business partnering – liaising with budget holders on financial matters and queries, budgeting, forecasting and project planning and tracking

Developing the relationship between finance and non-finance colleagues through the provision of information and analysis to support the organisation’s decision-making.

The successful candidate will likely be fully qualified (ACA/ACCA/CIMA/CIPFA) with post qualification experience gained in the Charity, Commercial or wider Public Sector. You will have robust technical skills and be well versed in Charity SORP. You will be analytically-minded with excellent organisational and project management skills.
