Head of Finance Business Partnering
Date posted: 21/12/2021
Salary: £55,000 - £60,000 per annum
At Asthma UK and the British Lung Foundation we’re working to change the lives of everyone affected by asthma, bronchiectasis, COPD, ILD, mesothelioma, pulmonary fibrosis and all other lung conditions. Two years on from our merger to form the UK’s respiratory charity, we stand at an exciting point in our long history. In the new year, we’ll be launching a bold and ambitious new strategy that builds on our merger, and unleashes our potential as a single voice for people’s lung health.
As part of this we have ambitious plans to grow our impact, income, and reach. To support this, we need to ensure our organisation has the tools it needs for growth, including a new structure for our finance team with a greater emphasis on business partnering, as well as a renewed focus on professional development.
We’re looking for an engaging finance professional with strong leadership skills to join us as Head of Finance Business Partnering. We need somebody who can transform this part of finance from a relatively transactional Management Accounting function to a service that is embedded in the organisation, adding value to our strategic plans.
This is a key post that will work with our different business departments, providing financial information, tools, analysis and insight to executives, challenging their thinking, helping them make more informed decisions and driving business strategy. The role will provide ‘real time’ support and analysis, to be a trusted adviser and to add value that will assist in decision making and lead the Finance Business Partnering function.
The successful candidate will be a fully qualified accountant (CCAB recognised qualification, such as ACA, ACCA, ICAS, CIMA, or CIPFA) and able to demonstrate:
- Proven experience in a leadership role
- Experience of business partnering at a senior level
- Excellent analytical, communication, financial modelling and Excel skills
This is a newly created role that comes at an exciting time for the charity and it offers the perfect opportunity for an ambitious and proactive individual who is looking to shape their finance career, develop their line management skills and put their own stamp on this role.
