Head of Finance

An interesting new role has arisen for a Head of Finance to lend support and leadership to the finance department of a leading NHS organisation while it approaches a period of transition.
Working with a specific division of the hospital, and reporting into the Financial Operations Director, this post works closely with divisional and business unit management leads and directors to meet and progress business needs. Developing productive partnerships with other managers, you will be seeking to drive profitability and return on investment, developing short and medium term financial plans to support realisation of the group strategy. This will include delivering the monthly reporting, supporting commercial propositions and undertaking or having over sight of the financial management of key contracts. The post is also responsible for a small team.
You should be a qualified accountant, or equivalent, with strong financial management experience and a good commercial awareness of how to apply finance skills. Although the focus of the role is to partner the business, you will still be hold responsibility for the team delivering the reporting, so experience in this area is important as well. Systems awareness and abilities will be very helpful, but first rate communication skills are essential as you’ll need to rapidly develop effective working relationships across the organisation. You should be available at short notice, as a good handover will be very helpful.
