An interesting and challenging new role has arisen for a Project Accountant to develop the capital reporting at an NHS organisation in the East of England.

Reporting to the Deputy Director of Finance, you will be responsible for delivering improvements to the set-up, process and tracking of capital reporting.  A key objective is to increase the engagement with the business and improve the capital planning process for the organistation.  This is an important and influential development within the financial reporting team because the capital budget is expected to double for the next financial year.

The successful candidate should be a qualified accountant, or equivalent, with strong technical skills and a thorough understanding of capital accounting, preferably gained within a NHS environment.  Broadly, strong exposure to financial accounting and deep understanding on how different parts of the accounts relate to each other is key to this role. Strong communication and influencing skills will be important, as you will be liaising with stakeholders both inside and outside finance.  Experience of managing a small team will also be a benefit.

This role represents a great opportunity to utilise your existing skills to develop a team, which, in turn, will be a significant benefit to the organisation.
