Head of Finance

An interesting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Head of Finance to lend support and leadership to a key division of a leading Foundation Trust while it goes through a period of change.

As Head of Finance for one of the divisions, you will lead the team in their delivery of financial reporting and financial advice, spanning commercial opportunities, business cases and service developments. As a result, you will be the key liaison point in finance within the department for clinical and operational management teams, so will be likely to spend a good deal of time in a business facing capacity. While intimate understanding of the monthly figures is important, the team you manage will be responsible for achieving the reporting deadlines and delivering quality management information and insight.

You should be a qualified accountant, or equivalent, with substantial post qualification experience of financial management in a healthcare environment which has included hospital services. Especially important will be your ability to lead a financial management team and add a new dimension to their capabilities.  Strong communication skills are essential as you’ll need to rapidly develop effective working relationships in a fast paced environment.
