Our support services play a key role in helping the whole Council work to the best of its ability and ensure the Council can deliver on its priorities. Financial Management will play an essential role in helping the Council face its current and future challenges by continuously supporting services and adding value.
The Management Accountant role will work closely with a Finance Business Partner for Housing in providing financial support to their designated services, with a focus on supporting the Housing Revenue Account. Key responsibilities include:
- Providing financial support and advice to budget holders and their service areas
- Producing financial analysis to support decision making
- Provision of appropriate, accurate and timely budgetary control information
- Co-ordinating Budget Monitoring reports for services within the remit of the role
To be suitable for the role you need to be part AAT qualified or have equivalent experience, ideally working towards a CCAB qualification. You will have good analytical and communications skills. The ability to explain financial information to non-finance staff is essential. Exposure of working within a Local Government finance setting is desirable but not essential.
