Allen Lane are supporting a London-based Local Authority in their search for a permanent ICT Operations Manager.

The ICT Team strives to provide reliable, high performing and secure ICT systems. Across a large service, there are teams dedicated to providing IT support, application support and development, data management, technical design, business partnering, project management, compliance, information governance, network and server infrastructure management, working to ITIL and Prince processes.

As ICT Operations Manager you will be responsble for the delivery of ICT services across the entirety of Ealing council sites and to over 3000 users. This includes delivery of a diverse range of core ICT services including; telephony, network services, cloud and data centre facilities, server platforms and mobile telephony. Some of these will be delivered through management of our key contracts. The role is responsible for all operational service processes.

Applicants must therefore be efficient and effective operational coordinators, ensuring excellent performance management of the ICT estate through operational and service supplier management. You will also champion new ways of working, add significant value to the ICT strategy and drive a customer-focused service.

You will be adept at managing multiple priorities dynamically and assertive in driving performance improvement. You will be proactive, with an ability to horizon scan and anticipate with the wider Council in mind.

Applicants must demonstrate their skills/experience against the following criteria:

  • ITIL practitioner, expert or equivalent professional ICT qualification or experience.
  • Experience of managing ICT Operations in a large organisation.
  • Experience in managing supplier contract agreements across multiple suppliers and ICT categories within large organisations.
  • Expert knowledge of the full ICT business relationship management and system lifecycles.
  • Knowledge of business analysis, solutions development, change management, programme and project management.
  • Knowledge of technical principles, industry best practice and drive to implement exemplary ICT operations, services and solutions.
  • Experience of continuous improvement planning in ICT.
  • Strong and deep technical ICT knowledge to be able to work closely with technical teams in Service, DevOps and ICT Operations.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

This role is available on a hybrid working arrangement, with typically 1 day per week required on site.
